Skin Tip

Eye Cream

Did you know that the skin around the eyes requires special attention?

The skin around your eyes is thinner and more fragile than the rest of the face and can be more prone to expression lines, dehydration, and laxity. We suggest investing early in a great quality eye cream to help prevent the signs of early aging. Eye cream is different than your average facial moisturizer. It has been specifically formulated to target concerns related to the delicate skin around your eyes— especially if dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, or irritation are present. They are designed to be more lightweight and easily absorbed, as heavy creams can cause puffiness and irritation around the eyes.

Eye creams often contain ingredients such as caffeine, retinol, and vitamin C, which can help reduce the appearance of dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles. Most moisturizers cannot provide enough hydration for the delicate skin under the eyes, as they are formulated for the thicker, more resilient skin on the rest of the face. (Also, eye creams are often fragrance-free and gentle, making them less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions.)

Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and eye cream to prevent dryness and irritation. Apply sunscreen daily and wear sunglasses to protect the under-eye area from harmful UV rays. Getting enough rest, staying hydrated, and managing stress can improve the overall health and appearance of the skin under your eyes.
